Hotellmarknadens Konjunkturbarometer Augusti 2021

The recovery in the hotel industry continues. Almost 90 percent of hotel companies expect increased demand for their services in six months’ time. This reinforces the image that the recovery is on track.

With an increasingly positive view of demand, expectations of higher prices for hotel services have followed. 6 out of 10 hotel companies state that they expect increased prices for hotel services in three months’ time.

The higher demand for hotel services and rising prices have caused 20 percent of hotel companies in the second quarter to report good or satisfactory profitability. During the first quarter, the corresponding share was four percent.

The ongoing recovery in demand for hotel services has increased the demand for staff in the industry. This has led to 4 out of 10 hotel companies reporting a shortage of staff during the second quarter. This is an increase from just under five percent in the first quarter.
