Improved outlook on future demand among hotel companies:
During the fourth quarter of 2023, the ADR and total room revenues in Sweden increased by 3.3 and 3.1 percent, respectively, compared to the same quarter the previous year. However, the number of rooms sold decreased by 0.2 percent, and the occupancy rate dropped by 0.6 percentage points during the same period.

The proportion of hotel companies expecting increased demand in the next 6 months rose during the quarter from around 3 out of 10 to 5 out of 10. Expectations for higher room rates in the next 3 months also increased. In the fourth quarter, 4 out of 10 hotel companies anticipated a higher ADR ahead, as opposed to 2 out of 10 hotel companies during the same period the previous year. Furthermore, the shortage of personnel continues to be low, with 94 percent of the hotel companies in the survey reporting no staff shortages.
