During the second quarter of 2023, the hotel market in several of the largest Swedish municipalities as well as the country as a whole has subdued from the strong recovery seen after the pandemic, which characterized most of 2022 and the beginning of 2023. However, this slowdown is anticipated as a return to more normal levels.

The modest development of the key indicators from the two previous market reports both persisted and, in certain aspects, regressed notably. Specifically, 16 out of the 25 largest municipalities in Sweden exhibit a negative trend in terms of RevPAR, while 15 out of 25 have seen a decline in their number of occupied rooms.
