Continued positive outlook on future demand but weakened view on current profitability.
Generally, there is a positive outlook in the hotel industry, with an improved view of future demand and future room rates. However, the perception of current profitability is in a negative trend, both among hotel companies and in the service sector.
During the third quarter, generally the strongest for the Swedish hotel industry, the ADR and total hotel revenue in Sweden increased by 1.7 and 3.9 percent respectively, compared to the same quarter in 2023. At the same time, the number of rooms sold increased by 2.2 percent, and the occupancy rate increased by 0.3 percentage points. Staff shortages remained low, as 92 percent of the hotel companies surveyed reported no lack of personnel. Furthermore, just over half of both the hotel companies and the companies in the service sector expect the number of employees to remain unchanged over the next 3 months. However, the share of hotel and service companies expecting a decrease in number of employees increased.
