Operator wanted for a hotel in Rindö

On behalf of Vasallen, Annordia is looking for an operator for the spa hotel Stockholm Lock, which is planned to be build at Rindö harbor in Vaxholm municipality.

A concept proposal has been developed by Vasallen in cooperation with Annordia and the architects Snøhetta. Johan Rockström is an expert in sustainable development and project partner for Stockholm Lock, which becomes a hotel in the forefront of sustainability. Large solar panels will dress the roof of the building and will produce more energy than the hotel consumes, including operations and building materials. The concept includes 180 hotel rooms as well as generous spaces for the spa, conference, restaurant and bar. The total area of use of the hotel is according to the proposal to more than 13,000 square meters.

Stockholm Lock will be a central meeting place in the emerging area of Rindö harbor. The area has long been an important place for Stockholm’s defense, but has evolved into a mixed city since the Armed Forces left the island in 2005. Between 2011 and 2020, more than 500 new homes will be built in Rindö harbor. New buildings will densify the area, and the beautiful century-old buildings that have been used for military use will be transformed into modern homes.

Stockholm Lock will be reached within an hour’s drive from central Stockholm and Stockholm Arlanda Airport. A new electric commuter ferry will mean that the journey time between the hotel and central Stockholm will be around 30 minutes.
