Operator wanted for a hotel in Umeå

On behalf of the property owner Akademiska Hus, Annordia is looking for an operator for a new hotel planned in direct connection with IKSU sport in Umeå. IKSU sport is one of Northern Europe’s largest multisport facilities, which includes an indoor arena, training halls, a climbing hall, racket halls and a swimming pool. Last year, the facilities had approximately 941,000 visitors.

IKSU sport and the upcoming Sport Hotel belongs to the University City, which also includes Umeå University, Norrlands University Hospital, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and a range of knowledge-intensive activities in Uminova Science Park. Today, the university city has about 12,500 employees, 20,000 students and 2,900 residents. Through extensive development projects, the area will be better integrated with central Umeå. Among other things, plans are being made for the completion of approximately 2,000 new homes in the university city within ten years.

Akademiska Hus, together with Tirsén & Aili Arkitekter and Annordia, has developed a hotel concept that comprises 125 guest rooms. In addition, the proposed concept includes a 170-seat restaurant and a meeting room with a maximum capacity of 180 people in cinema seating. The hotel’s total area amounts to over 4,500 square meters.
