Annordia acts as exclusive advisor to Klövern by recruiting an operator to their hotel project in central Uppsala. Archus has designed a ten-story building of 9,975 sqm and 170-240 rooms that can become the city’s new landmark.
Klövern owns the properties Kungsängen 10:1 and 10:2 which together make up the Suttung district in central Uppsala. They want to develop and densify the neighborhood by building two floors on an existing office building and constructing a new hotel building. The district’s new zoning came into force on 21st October 2010.
The Suttung district is one of Uppsala’s premier hotel destinations. Uppsala Central Station is directly connected to the neighborhood and Uppsala Concert & Congress is only 600 meters away. Most of what the city has to offer in terms of shopping, restaurants, bars, attractions and amusements is within walking distance.
The hotel building was designed by Archus and gained a strong architectural expression. With its ten floors, the hotel will not only be well visible and stand out from the surroundings, but also have all the necessary conditions to give guests a great view of the city.
Annordia has made a proposal for the hotel’s design. This means, in short, a total gross area of 9,775 sqm and 200 rooms, of which 95 percent range from 18-23 sqm. The entrance plan includes meeting rooms and a large restaurant that faces the central station, while a sky bar and relaxation area is located at the top of the building.
