We are proud to share Fastighetssverige’s interview with our CEO Hans Åke Petersson, regarding his views on the current situation and the future of the hotel market in Sweden.
As per our recent press release, we saw significant interest for the acquisition of STF Göteborg City and, overall, we are witnessing increased activity in the market as the vaccine program progresses and infection rates decline.
Looking forward, we expect leisure travel will continue to grow.
-Between 2010 and 2019, leisure guests’ share of sold rooms recorded growth from 37 percent to 48 percent in Sweden, and it is reasonable to expect that this market segment will continue to grow, says Hans Åke.
Business travel is also forecast to recover to pre-Covid levels, albeit at a slower pace than leisure travel. Business trips that stretch over several days and include hotel accommodation will be challenging to replace with digital formats, which is the primary reason for remaining positive to a recovery.
